Common Womens Health Problems That You Should Be Aware Of

To ensure that you retain your health for many years to come; it is important that you are aware of the most common threats to your current health, including many of the health issues that are specific to women. This will allow you to know what to look for and the treatments that are available if you do contract a health problem at any time throughout your life.

Infertility and Pregnancy Problems

Infertility is a major health issue for women, with 11% of women having fertility issues at some point during their lives. This can be due to a number of different reasons, including infrequent ovulation, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and an overactive or underactive thyroid. Infertility can be extremely difficult to cope with for those who want to have children. However, having problems with infertility does not mean that you will not be able to raise a family. These days, an egg donor is just one of many solutions to infertility. Alternatively, women who are worried about undergoing fertility treatment because they consider it an invasive procedure can rest assured that they can still start a family with the help of a home insemination. This procedure can be done in the comfort of your own home; so you and your partner can feel like it’s an intimate and non-invasive process.

Women often encounter problems during pregnancy, including blood clots and thromboses, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes, and dental issues, such as bleeding gums.

Mental Health Issues

Women are more likely to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety more likely to be diagnosed with depression or anxiety than men. Not only this, but childbirth processes can trigger mental health issues such as postpartum depression, which is female-specific. If you believe that you are showing signs of a mental health disorder, such as constantly feeling hopeless or worried; the physical symptoms such as a racing heart, or an inability to carry out your normal routines, you should visit your local doctor. They may recommend a variety of treatments, which range between medication to talking therapies.

Breast, Ovarian, and Cervical Cancer

Breast, ovarian, and cervical cancer can cause a threat to women’s health at any age, particularly after you reach 65. In order to reduce the risk of cancer from invading your life; you should check your body for signs regularly, such as abnormal lumps or changes to your breast, and you should attend regular screening for the most common types of female cancers whenever you are invited to them.

Gynecological and Menstrual Disorders

Many gynecological disorders in women can be linked to their menstrual cycle, with issues such as bacterial vaginosis, chronic urinary tract infections, and endometriosis, causing a lot of discomfort to women, including pelvic pain. If you suffer from one of these disorders, you may be prescribed a course of antibiotics, or surgery if the problem persists.

Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis can occur within either gender. However, women are much more at risk as they often have smaller and thinner bones, and their bone mass is reduced after menopause. Not only this, but pregnancy can cause the condition as your bone density decreases. To prevent osteoporosis, you should include calcium and vitamin D within your diet, avoid smoking and excess alcohol, and exercise regularly. You should be expressly careful if you are genetically prone to the condition.
